First, the television viewing public is familiar with him. Second, he can play creepy very well. He's basically The Riddler of the island! Ben is great at mind manipulation and that is a fundamental aspect of the Riddler. Michael is very believable in that role. The fact that he does that so well on Lost could definitely transfer well to the big screen. This works on so many levels. First, the television viewing public is familiar with him.
