DIRECTOR: James Gray
STARRING: Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow
We managed to get an exclusive look at Joaquin Phoenix’s new film, “Two Lovers”. Not without some drama, as we thought we’d lost the tickets at one point! But as we slid in to our seats at the London Film Festival, the excitement started to build. This is the third movie that Joaquin Phoenix and director James Gray have made together. (Previous ones include “The Yards” and “We Own The Night”.)
The film “Two Lovers” also stars Gwyneth Paltrow. The two play next door neighbours who meet under strange circumstances. Joaquin plays a suicidal, depressed, Bipolar, young man who lives and works with his parents. Gwyneth is everything he wants; pretty, funny and nice. The film deals with the difference between what we need, what we think we need and what we want.
This film is touching and sweet, with plenty of funny moments (mostly provided by Joaquin, of course). A must see for all Joaquin Phoenix fans, like us. Set for release sometime next year, make sure you keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for this one.
