Burn After Reading was one of the films we saw in LaLa Land before it came out in England: and boy, was it worth it.
Burn After Reading is a film about a body-image obsessed gym employee (Francis McDormand) and her air-head co-worker (Brad Pitt) who stumble across highly classified memoirs written by a sacked CIA agent (John Malkovich) and attempt to blackmail him. Meanwhile, his wife (Tilda Swinton) is having an affair with an egotistical womanizer (George Clooney) and… well, we don’t want to give it all away, but if you’ve ever seen a Coen Brothers film, you get the idea: A lot of storylines, a lot of characters and a lot of laughs.
This was a very funny film for two reasons: the crazy story and witty dialogue and the fantastic acting from all cast members (especially Brad Pitt and John Malkovich)
What did we learn from this movie?
Never, under ANY circumstances, hide in someone’s closet.
