A Revolutionary Split

Awful title.

But Kate Winslet has split from hubby /director Sam Mendes =(
Apparantly it’s all amicable but wow. Didn’t see that one coming – seems sudden. But then, you never know about people.

The thing I really wanted to say was my theory. THEORY alledgedly no proof:

Kate Mendes Winslet has suddenly realised she’s in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. They are “best friends” and have been exceptionally close for years, with him even buying her expensive jewellery. Obviously they did the film Revolutionary Road together a few years back with her husband directing. That’s when she realised.

Then again, my theories on everything include Leo. My thoughts, my dreams…

PS. Go see Shutter Island. Leo/Scorsese uh huh.

In case you’ve been wondering…

The reason we haven’t posted in a while is because we’ve been in…. wait for it… NEW YORK. (don’t cha just love our little adventures?)

It was a whole lotta awesome, already can’t wait for the next trip out there. The only down side is we didn’t meet Edward Norton. *Sigh* There’s always next time, right?

So here are a few pics, and keep your eyes open for reviews of Revolutionary Road, Doubt, The International and others.

OMG is that? could it be? YES it’s Leo DiCaprio looking a little… well… waxy if you ask me.

Oh, hi. It’s Sway from MTV. And no, this one ain’t a wax figure.

Hey there, Mr President…

“The Departed” part two? Well, sort of…

The producer behind Scorsese’s Oscar winning film (and our personal fave), The Departed, was so fascinated by the Boston mob, he’s bought the rights to make a film about the hit man John Martorano.

Martorano worked for mob boss “Whitey” Bulger (whom the Jack Nicholson character “Costello” was based on), before becoming an FBI informant.

According to IMDb, Graham King, producer of The Departed, was so intrigued when he met Martorano, that he felt a story had to be made out of his life.

Hey, anything to do with The Departed has our attention. We’d watch it!

Movie Review: “Body of Lies”

 Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe
Director: Ridley Scott

If our memory serves us correctly, we were pretty excited about this film coming out. We weren’t disappointed.
“Body of Lies” is an intricate story of a CIA operative (Leo) sent out to Jordan to hunt down a terrorist network responsible for a string of recent bombings. He is at constant odds with his boss (Crowe) who compromises his operation. Throw in a little romance (with the beautiful Golshifteh Farahani), and you’ve got a pretty cool CIA movie.
Leo is, of course, incredible. His intensity of acting never ceases to amaze us. Russell Crowe gives a solid performance, and the story keeps you thoroughly entertained. Aside from having to spend about an hour after the movie discussing everything we didn’t understand, we definitely recommend this movie.

What did we learn from this movie?
Leo looks mighty good in white linen.

Pleeease Come Out Soon! “Revolutionary Road”

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet
Dir: Sam Mendes

This is the second Leo film to feature in our “Pleeease Come Out Soon” section – it’s not that we’re obsessed, it’s just that… well, maybe a little bit. That said, it’s no surprise “Revolutionary Road” has us waiting with baited breath for its release.
It focuses on a young couple set in 1950’s suburbia, fighting personal battles and strained relationships, while trying to raise their children. It also sees Leo and Winslet team up for the second time, more than 10 years after “Titanic” – making us wonder how their dynamic and chemistry has changed.
Generating Oscar buzz already, “Revolutionary Road” is definitely one we’re looking forward to in the New Year.

RELEASE DATE: 30 January 2008 (UK)
